Mexican Independence Day 2025: Casa Don Ramón

The Casa Don Ramón mobile bar at the Mexican Independence Day celebration

September 16 is a date of special significance for Mexico. It is on this day that Mexican Independence Day (Día de la Independencia de México) is celebrated throughout the country and beyond, commemorating the beginning of the struggle for freedom. We are extremely proud and delighted to announce that last Monday, September 15, the Casa Don Ramón brand had the honor of being the official partner of the celebrations organized in Warsaw by the Mexican Embassy in Poland.

Pride and tradition – partnership with the Mexican Embassy

The opportunity to co-create such a prestigious event was a great honor for us. Being chosen by the official representation of Mexico as a partner celebrating Mexican Independence Day is the highest proof of recognition and confirmation of the authenticity and quality of our beverages. The evening brought together distinguished guests – representatives of the diplomatic corps, the business world, and friends of Mexico, who celebrated together in an atmosphere full of Mexican culture, music, and tradition. We are delighted that we were able to contribute a part of our country’s heritage – the taste of the highest quality tequila and mezcal.

Tasting the treasures of Jalisco: Tequila and Mezcal

During the event, guests had the opportunity not only to taste our flagship products, but also to learn more about the passion and craftsmanship behind every bottle of Casa Don Ramón. Our experts were happy to talk about the production process, the differences between the various types of agave, and the characteristics of the flavor profiles of our tequilas and mezcals. It was a great opportunity to show that behind each of our spirits there is a deep history and respect for the Mexican land.

The secret of agave from the highlands of Jalisco – what makes Tequila Don Ramón so special?

During conversations with guests, we often emphasized that the key to understanding tequila is to learn about its source. Tequila Don Ramón is not just alcohol—it is the essence of Mexican soil, specifically the fertile, mineral-rich red soils of the Jalisco Highlands (Los Altos de Jalisco). It is this unique terroir that gives the 100% blue agave grown there a distinctly sweeter, more floral and fruity profile. During the event, we took our guests on a journey through the flavors offered by our tequila. We started with the crystal-clear Plata version, which fully reflects the fresh, mineral character of agave. Then we moved on to Reposado, which is aged for several months in oak barrels, giving it smoothness and vanilla notes. Finally, we allowed guests to discover the depth and complexity of the Añejo version, whose long aging in barrels brings rich aromas of dried fruit, caramel, and spices. This tasting was proof of how a craft approach and respect for the raw material allow the creation of an alcohol with many fascinating facets.

Craftsmanship and smoke – discovering the world of Mezcal Don Ramón

In addition to tequila, its “artisan cousin” mezcal also attracted a lot of interest. For many guests, this was their first opportunity to consciously explore its secrets. We explained that while all tequila is mezcal, not all mezcal is tequila. The secret of Mezcal Don Ramón’s characteristic smoky aroma lies in the traditional production method. The hearts of the agave, called piñas, are slowly baked in underground conical ovens lined with volcanic stones, which gives them a unique smoky flavor. Our Mezcal Don Ramón Maguey Espadin Joven is made from the finest variety of agave, Espadin. Its flavor perfectly balances notes of smoke, earth, and herbs with the sweetness of cooked agave. We showed our guests that mezcal is not only a strong, smoky drink, but also an alcohol of extraordinary complexity, which is perfect for both solo tasting and modern, bold cocktails.

A unique version of Mezcal Negroni

One of the highlights of our bar was the cocktail served that evening – Mezcal Negroni. We opted for a unique combination that delighted our guests and became the topic of many conversations. The base of the cocktail was our craft Mezcal Don Ramón Maguey Espadin Joven, whose smoky, earthy character provided the perfect backdrop for the other ingredients. Instead of classic Campari, we used the French bittersweet aperitif Pampelle, which brought refreshing notes of red grapefruit to the composition. This intercultural combination proved to be a hit, creating a cocktail with an extremely complex and balanced flavor.

We are grateful to the Mexican Embassy in Poland for their trust and for the opportunity to be part of such an important celebration. It was an honor for us to celebrate Mexican Independence Day in Warsaw, sharing the best of this culture.

¡Viva México! ¡Viva Casa Don Ramón!
